Doug is a stay-at-home dork who has just finished another video blog about his obsession, the Longwoods Wereman. His wife Alice is super-duper pissed because he forgot to pick her up from work. Again! Doug proposes a romantic weekend getaway, concealing his true intentions to investigate the elusive creature. With the aid of a fuzzy forest friend and a magical musical interlude, Doug finally confronts his dream. And his dream is a grade-A, freerange asshole. Big Ol’ Tire Fire & executive producer Steph Swope present Mark Stewart (Project Rant) and Hilah Johnson (Hilah Cooking) in this micro budget comedy short featuring Jason Andres. Freerange Asshole was directed by Craig Matthew Staggs. Jess Gardner shot and edited the film. The score and musical number were written and performed by Mark Stewart. Chase Staggs did the production design. Christopher Sharpe (Hilah Cooking) recorded sound. Eric Gerzymisch was our gaffer. And Kelli Bland (A Thought in Three Parts) did the costumes. Made for under 1,000 dollars the film was shot in 2010 and was selected to The DeadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City.
